Temporary Sunrise - GH Preview for Week of August 18

 Temporary Sunrise

Tomorrow People

With a family rendered asunder by body blows of loss over the last few years, Ned waits with Michael and Morgan for news of Alice’s condition. The Quartermaines have withstood a lot, but losing Alice –who is really the moral fiber in the family after Lila’s death – would make things that much more difficult. And they’re difficult enough already, with Tracy acting weird and odd – well, weirder and odder than usual.  When Alice’s fate is finally revealed, Ned finds himself overhearing an illuminating conversation between the former wrestler and his mother – and he discovers a new revelation about Tracy that sets him back on his heels.  Later, he runs into a despondent Olivia Falconeri and, both of them wishing to take the day and change the tune, agree to go on a friendly movie date together, and both find themselves inordinately pleased at the prospect.

All You Need Is Now

Ava gets a surprise on her birthday when Kiki shows up for a visit – to her mother’s gratitude and delight.  The visit is punctuated by sheer elation when they feel Ava’s baby kicking – a shared moment of bonding between mother and daughter that is quickly thrown off course with an unpleasant interruption: Fluke has a request to make of Ava -- one that alarms her and kicks her countermeasures into full standby.  Julian has been working double-time to keep the identity of his boss under the radar, particularly from Jordan, but is further put in a corner when Fluke informs him of what’s expected of Ava. Ava, in turn, wastes no time telling her brother about Fluke’s plans – and Julian’s concern escalates. He fills Ava in on some crucial information and cautions her to be extremely careful: She may think she knows, but she has no idea.

Hole in the World

After a few weeks of rest and recovery in her native Puerto Rico, Sabrina returns to Port Charles, ready to go forward and hoping to find answers. Patrick fills her in on Rafe’s involvement in the accident, the ensuing chase, Rafe’s death, and the subsequent fallout. He also tells her about the events which transpired at the Crichton Clinic, and what he found there.  All of it is a little overwhelming for Sabrina, who is shocked at the eye-opening disclosures. Will they shatter her spirit once again, or give her new resolve?

Sam, also trying to fill in the blank spaces, goes to Silas’ apartment to go through Rafe’s possessions, hoping to find some clue or answer as to the identity of the person who had such a hold on her former foster son. Whoever or whatever induced Rafe to run a family off the road had to have a powerful, potent lure –one which, for whatever reason, he didn’t feel he could come to Sam and Silas and talk about with them.  It was a decision which ultimately cost him the balance of a full and productive life.  Both Sam and Silas want to know who collected it, and why.  While sifting through the pieces of a patchwork boy, they make some new discoveries neither expected.

Coming Back to Life

Bolluxed, bothered, and buffaloed, Franco is climbing the walls with jealous itchiness over Carly’s developing closeness with Sonny – even as Carly herself fights her own feelings and the pull she feels towards her ex-husband.  Franco has had it up to the chin, and even though Nina offers what appears to be solace and solidarity, he tackles the issue head-on. Suspicious, he point-blank asks Carly what’s been happening – and while Carly covers the truth with the help of her reluctant mother, the center isn’t holding very well and things are close to unraveling. Bobbie herself confronts her daughter about the situation, while Franco confides in Nina. Later, Franco gives Michael, Morgan, and Kiki an earful of information which skews the axis and changes the game once more.

Undaunted by Silas’ disapproval when she skips out on PT to go to Franco’s art class, Nina is busily stringing a new fiddle.  Her first attempt at conception and assault having been thwarted by disinterest and drug-addled apathy, she is determined to forge ahead. Now that she’s aware of Ava’s impending bundle of bouncing baby, Nina’s single-minded pursuit of a Silas zygote is unchecked and unwavering  -- despite some demonstrably large obstacles in her path.

Also Next Week:  Ava invites Michael and Kiki to dinner, while Nik admits he has feelings for both Britt and Elizabeth.  The entire town learns of the aftermath of Maxie’s wedding, and Jordan and Shawn share a volatile secret.
