Listen to Angela: GH Preview for Week of June 16 - Cupid and Psyche

 Cupid and Psyche

Phenomenal Woman

Understandably apprehensive about Silas’ news about Nina’s living arrangements, and with a PI’s mind towards assessing the situation, Sam takes the initiative and goes to introduce herself. She and Nina figuratively pace around the tulips with tentative care, furtively searching for emotional landmines to avoid – or perhaps to mark for later use. When Silas comes home, he has sort of a Michael Douglas moment; utterly blindsided to find his girlfriend and his wife chatting in the living room. The charged topic of conversation leads him to consider whether Sam is really past the ghosts of her previous marriage, and is faced with some decisions after a few very pointed questions from Nina.

Use Somebody

Emotionally drained, both Patrick and Sabrina say goodbye to Gabriel and contemplate how to move on from here. Sabrina accepts Juan’s offer to convalesce and recuperate in Puerto Rico after Patrick’s sincere encouragement. Both need time to adjust and absorb what has happened before they can go forward, and Patrick knows the best thing for Sabrina is to be with her family, while he figures out a way to accept his loss – and contemplate why Robin wasn’t there to support him in his grief.

Absorbed in her own thoughts as she departs from the funeral service, Maxie is aghast to stumble upon Nathan and Levi in the park, engaged in a decidedly physical and anything but impassive scuffle.  Levi loses his Zen completely after a few well-aimed barbs from his elliptically-inclined nemesis, and hilarity ensues as the diminutive object of their affections breaks it up and scolds them into submission. Later, Maxie is floored when she discovers who is summoned to her custody hearing, and the judge hands down a decision with regard to her visitation rights with little Georgie.

Across town, Franco is happily dragging his goods and chattels out from storage, gleefully rediscovering his boxed and taped past like a kid at Christmas. After recovering from the sheer and staggering volume of Franco’s storage bin, Carly is happy and excited about their future – but Josslyn, to their consternation and confusion – makes her displeasure known. Forcefully.

Grenade

It seems this week is the week where people move in with other people and their people aren’t happy about said people moving in. Sam’s not thrilled about Nina. Josslyn, Michael, and Morgan aren’t over the moon about Franco – and then Michael, Morgan, Kiki and Carly find out about Ava setting up a wet bar at Sonny’s, and all hell really breaks loose. Kiki is stunned – first attempting to pry the truth out of her mother and then reading Ava the riot act when all that comes are evasions. Morgan is hurt, Carly is livid, and Michael is just simply baffled.  But he has no problems offering Morgan an ear, a shoulder, and unwavering support as his adrift brother flails for emotional purchase. Eager to offer something new for Morgan to focus on, Michael unveils ELQ’s newest and very ambitious project – and is surprised by an unexpected visitor.

Master of Puppets

After butting heads with Anna, Sonny keeps his gloves on and goes back in for Round Two with Julian Jerome in the Park – a piece of City real estate getting more action nowadays than Pier 52.  The two mob bosses feed squirrels and chat amiably about the state of business, all the while lacing their comments with an undercurrent of menace and tension. Julian is still being pressured by his overlord to keep up on product marketing, and in turn puts pressure on Jordan, who is feeling pressured by her overlord, Anna Devane.  Overwhelmed and sick at having to continue lying to TJ, Jordan appeals to Julian’s better nature, imploring him to name his boss.

Also Next Week:  Ava is shocked by news she never expected to hear, and Tracy develops a new scheme. After talking to Olivia, Lulu makes a decision and shares it with Dante. TJ and Molly commiserate over their mothers.

Songs:

Phenomenal Woman:  Olivia Newton-John, Stronger Than Before
Use Somebody:  Kings of Leon, Only By the Night
Grenade:  Bruno Mars, Doo-Wops and Hooligans
Master of Puppets: Metallica, Master of Puppets

It's summer, Pier 52 is probably all humid and muggy, and perhaps undergoing construction that might include the installation of security cameras... or not
